Daniel, Group Financial Controller
Inside the Finance Team
Meet our people, Daniel is our Group Financial Controller at Fluidic Analytics. Understand what he enjoys most about working for us and how in his role he can be instrumental in implementing successful solutions to help the business operate as effectively.
What was it about Fluidic Analytics that interested you?
I joined Fluidic Analytics in July 2019 as a Chartered Accountant, and was keen to join an early stage, growing business that was doing things that make a real difference. It had really exciting potential; a niche had been found in the protein-protein space and investors were backing the product pipeline of the company.
What specifically interested you about your role?
As Group Financial Controller, my role can be instrumental in implementing successful solutions to help the business operate as effectively and efficiently as possible from a financial perspective.
I saw this role as a real opportunity for me to gain a lot of new business experience, really accelerate my knowledge and learn more about the Biotech industry. At the same time, I also knew that I could add a lot of value to this growing business from my previous experience with systems implementations and internal and external reporting.
What motivates you in your role at Fluidic Analytics? Why you do what you do and why is it important, and why you enjoy it?
I enjoy the variety of work that I do; from day to day fundamental finance tasks including reviewing payment runs, to technical accounting work and involvement in business or project management meetings, trying to share insight or my knowledge from a finance perspective. I feel valued and like I’m contributing to moving the company in the right direction.
How would you describe working at Fluidic Analytics to a prospective employee/interested applicant?
There is a warm, supportive and collaborative company culture, where colleagues work across functions/departments to really help each other. I take the initiative wherever possible and work hard, and sometimes outside of my direct remit, to ensure that progression across the business continues so that Fluidic Analytics can achieve everything it is capable of. A “get stuck in” mentality is a must.
Would you recommend Fluidic Analytics to others? If so, why?
Absolutely, if you want to be working in a business which strives to make ambitious outcomes possible, whose product pipeline address applications in areas including COVID-19 and Alzheimer’s disease, to name but a few, then Fluidic Analytics is a great place to be. You can work alongside inspiring problem-solving colleagues, who are passionate about achieving and living our common company vision and goals.
