Membrane protein analysis

Membrane proteins represent approximately ¼ of the human proteome, and constitute over 50% of current drug targets. Obtaining well folded and functional protein for study however remains challenging, due to these problems associated with yield, solubulity and stability. These in turn can make characterisation hard – with low concentrations and complex detergent based formulations preventing robust analysis.
